Beauty/Makeup haul and review.
Hi lovely people, Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you!!!!!!!! and a happy boxing day.
I couldn’t wait for today to get here, To show you guys my recent purchase in the Makeup department and my reviews on them.
Beauty/Makeup Haul and review
I will not ramble on and just get into it.
So the first item on my list is the Bh cosmetics ‘take me to brazil eyeshadow palette’. I have always wanted this eyeshadow palette and so when I got the opportunity to get it I did. It was a difficult decision though, I’m not going to lie. I also wanted the Illuminate palette and the Carli Bybel highlighting palette which I talked about in one of my last post, but I had to go with my first love/interest.
Anyways, This palette is filled with amazing colors, and they are well pigmented. The trick to getting adequate result with these eyeshadows is to prime the eyes before applying them. That way, you get exactly the amount of pigment the eyeshadow offers. You could prime your eyes with a concealer and then set them with a powder or, buy an eye primer, the eye primer from smash box is a good one. This was $11.00
Next is the Be.. by bubzbeauty eyeshadow palette. This is also from Bh cosmetics. So bubz beauty is a Youtuber who collaborated with bh cosmetics to create this wonderful eyeshadow palette. I love every color on here although, I’m yet to use this palette but after a couple of swatches I can tell you that it is pigmented and will be a great addition to your makeup collection. Just saying.
Also from Bh cosmetics are these pretty lip gloss set. I love these, every color here will go well with a lipstick. There are two different types available on their site but I chose this one because there is a nude/brown transparent lip gloss in the set (that’s the only way I could describe it). I have been searching for a very good lip gloss, one that gives the right amount of shine to the lips or to a lipstick and also last. This set is called ‘Gold rush lip gloss’ and its only $6.00.
Switching to Colorpop cosmetics. I went on this website for the first time and I couldn’t believe how inexpensive their products are. So looking at my budget and feeling a little irritated because there were a lot of pretty things I wanted to get, but I knew I had to stay within my budget.
I got this lipstick set, and I am very happy I did. The colors on here are great for this Winter season and also for spring. I love them all. This set is called ‘Its Vintage’ and it comes with five different lipsticks for $18.00. Each lipstick is very matte so don’t forget to moisturize your lips before you put them on. They are very long lasting, it doesn’t go anywhere while you eat and after eating you don’t need to touch up. I know I did not need to.
They leave a very pretty stain on your lips after you clean it off. The last one I used is called LAX, and it the deep red one in the picture on the left (in the box). It left me with a pretty pink stain on my lips which lasted the entire night and by morning it was gone. I did feel like putting on some lipstick and taking it of just to get the stain back. Lol.
Ok, Next is this very sophisticated deep green or (teal) lipstick called ‘Dr M’. Wow, Just Wow. I am completely obsessed with this lipstick. I have no words, just that if you are not afraid to try bold lip colors then I will suggest you get this one. its only $6.00
This eyeshadow is also from colorpop cosmetics is called ‘shameless’ and when I tell you it is pigmented, believe me honey. I would say it is even more pigmented than the one from bh cosmetics. It has tiny gold glitters in it and it is gorgeous. Please excuse the smudge, I had to dip my finger in it to test it out. This is only $5.00
This next one is from Wet ‘N’ Wild. It is the Megaglo h
ighlighter. This highlighter has a Champaign gold finish on the cheeks and it is good for dark skin girls. This is $4.00
Next I got the Airspun translucent powder from Walmart. This is a very good powder if your looking for an affordable powder to set your foundation or concealer with. I have not tried the Byne powder so I can not compare the two. I am sorry but I cant find the receipt for all the products I got from Walmart but, nothing was more that $5.00
This one is also from Walmart. I was very skeptical when I was getting this foundation but I am glad I got it. It blends easily and has very good coverage, it is also very light weight. I do prefer it to my Bobbi brown foundation. It is also very inexpensive.
Also from Walmart is this Black Radiance press powder. I got two of these, one in Mahogany, which I use all over my face especially to take off the Airspun powder. And Warm Hazenut, which is the one I use for contouring.
From Elf are these fine products. The makeup mist and set is a setting spray for after you’ve applied all your makeup. I don’t know what products to compare it too, but for me it does the job of giving my makeup a very clear and fine finish. I would recommend this one and It is very affordable $3.00. (Ha!! I told you it’s affordable). However, I’m not quite sure of the baked blush. I think its more of a highlighter than a blush. I used it, and my cheeks glowed without that pigment a blush gives. Maybe on the skin of lighter girls it would give a pretty pink shade but for me I will just use it to highlight my cheek bones.
This eyeliner is from elf and in my experience I don’t think its a very good one. It is very difficult to apply because the ink does not come out. Its like drawing with a dried up pen. Maybe they gave me a finished one, I don’t know what it is but umm… I’m not getting these again.
Ok, So I also got a few brushes from Wet ‘N’ Wild. These brushes are not very good (in my opinion). I prefer the ones from Elf to these ones. The fan brush is a lot more easier to use and wash, probably because its thin. I got a concealer brush eyeshadow bush, stipple brush and a few others. After I used the foundation brush I tried to wash it and it was the hardest thing I had to do that day. The brushes feel like toothbrush bristles, ok maybe slightly softer, but they don’t feel like hair or as soft. I would not buy these again. The one from Elf is ten times better than these ones and they are the same price.
That’s it for todays blog, I hope you found it interesting or informative. Have you tried any of these products?. If you want me to do a review on any product please let me know in the comment.
Thank you so much for reading, see you next week. Merry Christmas again!!
